Bhaktapur and the art of Thanka

After finishing breakfast, we went on about 1 hr drive to Bhaktapur to see the world heritage site. Bhakatapur had one of the oldest water retention mechanisms called ‘Hiti’. A Hiti is a traditional stone tap water supply system built more than 1500 years ago in Nepal by the Lichchhavi dynasties. Bhaktapur

We had the chance to explore many ancient temples in Bhaktapur and visited the local market to experience its vibrant culture and rich heritage. We also stopped by an art school where the traditional Buddhist art of Thanka - art on silk or cotton. Moreover, we witnessed the poetry making firsthand, which was a fascinating experience. After our time at Bhaktapur we started our journey to SaBuddhist silk artnskriti farm.shop in Kathmandu
