Day 10: Sunday, Jan 12

Departure from Nepal

By Opeyemi Ogedengbe

After a restful night, our day began with Intercontinental and our favorite Nepalese breakfast in the morning. Thereafter, we all packed our bags and prepared for the journey to our various destinations ahead of us. After lunch, we headed to the airport earlier and completed our respective security checks. Then we bid our amazing faculty staff on the trip - Suhana and Leena “Ta ta” meaning goodbye in Nepal as they boarded their flight for India.

The rest of the team (Tiberias, Rafian, and I) waited for Ujjwol to join us and together we waited for our connecting flight to Doha, Qatar. During this wait time, we observed different fights take off to their respective destinations on the airstrip in a space of every 2 minutes.

As we boarded our flight, we had mixed feelings as we reminisced about the incredible moments, adventure, cultural exposure, and learning experiences we had during the past week and a half, in this mountainous country. I also reflected on the positive outlook and cheerful demeanor the people have embraced despite the natural disasters they have faced. With grateful hearts, we bid Nepal a heartfelt ‘Namaste’ as our flight gracefully ascended into the sky to Doha en route to the United States.

From the 2025 Winter Amp Nepal Team, we hope you had an amazing time following us on this amazing journey. Until next time, keep exploring!
