Gili Marbach-Ad
Dr. Gili Marbach-Ad is a research professor and the director of the Teaching and Learning Center in the College of Computer, mathematical, and Natural Sciences (CMNS) at the University of Maryland. She holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biology from Tel Aviv University. She received her Ph.D. in science education in 1997 from Tel Aviv University; the subject of her dissertation was “Students’ Conceptions in Genetics.” She joined the University of Maryland faculty in 2004. As director of the CMNS Teaching Learning Center, she oversees comprehensive professional development programming and coordinates program assessment for externally-funded STEM curriculum development, graduate training, and outreach initiatives. She serves on multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) and Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) funded initiatives as a Co-PI, senior personnel, evaluator, and advisory board member. Marbach-Ad has published extensively on her research in teaching and learning.
