Water Sampling in Nepal

Dr. Leena Malayil's Interview

In an interview with the journal International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, our co-PI Dr. Leena Malayil discusses important findings from their new scoping review of microbial and chemical contaminants in Nepal's surface waters.

She concludes, "from a theoretical perspective, the research strengthens the understanding that water quality cannot be separated from broader environmental and public health systems. It reinforces the idea that addressing water safety requires an integrated approach, one that considers agricultural practices, sanitation, land use, and policy frameworks."
