Jen Cotting

Jen has worked in leadership roles to advance local-level resource protection efforts for more than twenty years. She joined the Mid-Atlantic Environmental Finance Center at the University of Maryland in 2004 and currently is the center’s Director. Prior to this role, Jen served as the Center’s first Research Associate for Green Infrastructure and developed expertise in green infrastructure finance developing solutions that address needs across a diverse set of drivers, engage a variety of partners, and occur at multiple scales. 

She has a wealth of experience in direct community engagement, technical assistance, and communications. She holds an M.S. in Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in Communications from Marymount University.

Research Interests: Community engagement and capacity building around water, energy, sustainablity and resilience

Areas of Expertise: Developing training programs and technical assistance strategies; facilitating access to funding programs; developing financing strategies for resource protection and restoration
